This Month's Highlight

The Black and White

This beautiful cookie comes from the recipe files of Cook's Country. (You may recall its guest appearance on an episode of Seinfeld.) It has a scrumptious crumb, more cake-like than cookie, and a delicious, slightly chewy icing of deep dutch chocolate cozied up against a mild white half. And it's a big cookie, only 12 to the recipe. As the son of my friend, Amy Daniel, announced after sneaking one, "I had one of your pancakes." That's about the size of it.
